Can You Avoid Common Stock Market Investing Mistakes And Still Make Money In The Stock Market?

Displaying overconfidence in the news and research reports appearing in print or electronic media carrying opinions or views of stock market analysts is problematic. It is valuable to realize that for every analyst report making a correct forecast, there is another one forecasting a contrary movement. Relying too much on the ability of professional financial managers is also a potentially bad thing. The movement in the stock market is mostly random, though some order can be found in such activity, but there is no way even the best of financial planners can correctly predict the movement in the stock market, and therefore it is best to rely on your own instincts especially if you have some good tools at your disposal.

With the financial markets becoming more complicated with each passing day, and The Stock Markets showing the extremes of volatility, investors are presented with the challenge that seems try to get in your way of your goal of making money in the stock market. It is important to remember that investment in Stocks is as much a science as an art, and at times personal instincts work better than any scientific report telling you what direction to go.

It is important to know these issues before deciding to move forward with your plan to make money in the stock market, and if that is not possible, then these are the issues that you should use in a consultation.

People who Invest In The Stock Market have been proven to make the same types of mistakes. The first mistake that is most commonly committed by most folks is that they do not invest with a plan of action. Any personal investment plan must address some important issues, for example what are the goals and objectives of the investment; what are the risks involved and what is your comfort level; what is the appropriate benchmark you should consider to measure the results of working your strategy; how should you allocate your resources withing the categories ofsecurities available in the market for investment, and in the end what kind of diversification do you want in each asset class that you’ve selected?

The second most common mistake is only focusing on short-term goals. You need to understood that the higher than average returns in the short term also involve higher risk of higher than average losses.

The third most common mistake is neglecting to revisit and tweak your portfolio. Once you’ve made an investment, the market variables may change necessitating the portfolio to be rebalanced to the changed variables. It is also incorrect to chase some benchmark index giving abnormal returns during a timeframe, with the feeling that you’re missing out on getting the same results with the portfolio of someone else. It is best to judge the performance of your investments against the investment goals and objectives that you’ve outlined from the beginning. Getting an abnormal return also entails a higher than normal possibility of incurring higher than normal losses.

To what extent probability concepts are important for being a good Stock Market Analyst/fund manager.?

If you tossed a coin, you have an equal chance of it landing heads as you do tails. If you tossed it multiple times and it came up tails more often, then while you have the same raw possibility of it coming up tails next time, the likelihood (assuming a balanced coin) is that you are about to face a time of heads coming up more frequently.

Stocks are not coins. It isn’t just chance that sets a price up or down on any given day. Still, if the company has been on the top ten biggest gainers list for three days, I’d start “betting” down because a “correction” is coming. That is the closest thing to the ‘coin toss’ kinds of probabilities as you will get. If you are trying to tie “probability concepts” to “being a Good Stock market analyst”, I can tell you right now, you won’t be a good stock market analyst. Sorry. As much as we popularly talk about the stock market being a crap shoot, it isn’t.

Daily Stock Picks — Luck Favors The Prepared

If you are a Day Trader then you will surely appreciate the value of daily stock picks. These are the names and securities identifiers of companies deemed worthy of Investing in on a daily basis. With this kind of information, you can get a leg up in personal stock Trading. Luck favors the prepared, after all, so you might as well prepare yourself and increase your chances of striking it rich.

Daily stock picks are not random, or at least they should not be. It helps to have access to some reputable source for information like this. Such recommendations should stem from the experience and knowledge of veterans in stock trading, and not some hack with a hot streak. These are indeed just suggestions and you do not have to follow them, but you will still want such suggestions to be as good as possible.

Of course, due to the nature of high finance, everything in Stocks is a bit of a gamble. Slash that – it really is gambling, but with a more refined and scientific approach. When trading on the Stock Market, it is like rolling dice, except you can choose better dice if you do your research. Thus daily stock picks are like those “better dice”. They are not loaded dice that ensure your win, but they certainly are weighted to lean towards better odds.

Of course, that also means that you can lose even if you follow the advice of experts. Due to the degree of unpredictability and correlation of stock markets with real-world events, there is always the chance of something going terribly wrong. As such, daily stock picks can still lead you to loss. If the suggestions come from an experienced trader, the chances for loss are smaller, but they are there. Think of these as dice with 5 faces with 6 dots, and one with a single dot – you can still roll a losing number, but at least the chance is lower.

As you earn more experience in stock trading, you can better understand how the system works, and you can develop your hunches, or extra senses for telling how a company will fare. By correlating your gut feelings with the daily stock picks and news on the companies, you can increase your chances of success even further.

Of course, you should not rely on these suggestions when trading. That would be like living your life according to your horoscope. It is still best to take a Day Trade course and learn the basics, then move on to get some hands-on experience via mock trading sessions. These practice trading sessions will allow you to refine your techniques and develop some strategies without worrying about losing money.

Aside from learning via a day trade course, you can also learn from watching and observing carefully. Ask a friend who is a successful trader if you can sit in on one of his or her trading sessions to watch. You may pick up new things, or see old things in a different way. Whatever way you look at it, it is an enlightening experience.

Research material for stocks and ETF’s?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew of a great website for Stock screeners or ETF screeners. I wanted to make sure that I invested in the Best Stocks and ETF’s at the right time and wanted to know if there was a site that picked winners and was updated daily or at least weekly with their picks. If anyone primarily uses a certain site and has done well, I would appreciate the info. Please, only investors who are serious and have been investing for at least 5 years with good success(over 10% annual return). Thank you

My husband uses Morningstar primarily but he does check with other sites as well.

Stock Exchange For Beginners

I am in the process of putting together a beginners guide to the Stock Market for a new website I am working on and I thought I might let you have a look too. I hope that the few articles I write (I’m planning three) won’t be too insulting to you, dear reader, but hopefully they may contain a nugget of use too.

Get Best Penny Stock Pick Program to help you to make profit!

Before I start, I ought to point out that these won’t be like any other pages ‘for beginners’ that you have ever seen. Here’s why …

I have been fascinated by investments since I was in my teens. Most teenagers read the sports pages, I read the financial pages. I bought my first shares aged 18. Into adulthood and I became a financial adviser at the grand old age of 24. I have sat and passed numerous financial exams and several investment specific professional qualifications.

I have read dozens of books about Stock Picking, economics, finance, politics, business, marketing, investment gurus and their autobiographies. In short, I am now past 30 and have spent the better part of my thinking life interested in investments.

I have been involved in a UK based share club and did much of the club’s analysis. Aged 23/24 I was involved in managing a portfolio of close to £100,000. I have read hundreds of company reports, annual and interim. I have also looked at hundreds, if not thousands of graphs. Still, to this day, I read about investment markets for perhaps 10 to 15 hours each week.

Again, back in my early 20’s, I used to assist a close friend, alas now departed, with his investment holdings and decisions – his portfolio had over 100 UK holdings and he was worth several million pounds.

The point I am getting to here is a simple one. No matter how much you study and work, the investment markets are huge and have so many variations that no one person will ever master them all.

I have friends and clients that work as economists, and really don’t understand investments. I have friends that work in Investment banking that categorically do not understand investments.

In fact, as far as I can tell, investment bankers are about the last people on earth that you would want to take Investment Advice from. They usually have an MBA and a good degree and are very smart people, but generally, the only bit of the financial world that they understand is the area in which they work or have worked in previously.

They can analyse the water industry or whatever specialisation it is that they do, but ask them what they would buy if they were to invest their own money now and they have no clue. I can think of a couple I have met whose deep insight into money management goes as far as ‘I put it in the bank’.

Geez! And these guys are the smart ones! Heaven help us all!

I could have asked a car mechanic, hairdresser or bricklayer and received better financial advice than that.

So, here’s the rub … There are very few people on earth that can accurately predict which way The Stock Market or any other investment is going to behave in the short, medium or long term. Very few people indeed. I don’t claim to be one of them.

The few people that can do this, charge a fortune for their advice or do not actually give any advice, they operate for themselves only. This makes some sense. Do Warren Buffett or George Soros offer advice to individuals? No they do not, not at any price.

The people that do have the kind of grasp over market movements that I am writing of usually belong to the ‘technical’ school of thought. This means that they follow a price, moving averages, indicators, market action in a rather mechanical way, but the art comes in how they interpret those charts!

I don’t have a number for this, what I am about to say next is pure speculation, but as wild as it will seem, I would not be surprised if it is actually correct. I imagine that of all the hundreds of millions of people worldwide that own shares and follow markets, there a probably only a few thousand that are competent and skilled at technical analysis. That is, a few thousand on earth.

It is such a difficult, time consuming skill to master, which once mastered will take hours each and every day to pour over charts and graphs that the individual must let it dominate his or her life. Mathematics and number analysis will become key components of daily life.

For the rest of us, life is just too short to spend it looking at 100 graphs and indicators each day. I know for sure that my time here is too limited for that.

Fear not, I am no technical expert and this report will not have much to say about this branch of financial analysis.

So what I am saying is that it is very, very difficult to manage money successfully over the medium to long term. Heck, even a chimp throwing darts at a page of the Financial Times or Wall Street Journal will have some success, but will that success last long?

I have worked with quite a number of financial or investment advisers over the years. I would guess at over 100 by now. That may not sound like a huge number, but each one probably had between 80 and 150 regular clients. Between them then, these advisers were helping maybe 15,000 families to plan their finances.

Advising in the region of 15,000 families about money is a pretty serious responsibility. In truth, helping just one family is quite a responsibility. Trust me on that.

The vast majority of these advisers specialised in mortgages and the financial aspects of house buying. That is very understandable since most housing markets have a reliable turnover of property and therefore, a reliable source of business and income for the adviser.

Get Best Penny Stock Pick Program to help you to make profit!

Yet, all those advisers needed to be able to sit and pass annual exams relating to investments and on the odd occasion provide advice on the subject. I don’t think that I am being harsh in saying that only 2 of the advisers could give investment advice competently.

In short, if you want good quality, competent investment advice, you need to do one of two things. Either be lucky and have an adviser that really is skilled in the subject or get out your chequebook and pay for quality.

Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not trying to be mean about these fellow professionals. I am simply trying to make one very direct point: there is so much investment information out there that one person can never ‘know it all’. In fact, it’s really close to impossible to know a lot.

Firstly, I believe, we should start with a realisation.

The stock exchange is rarely a place where anyone ‘gets rich quick’. Offhand, I don’t know where anyone does that, but certainly not in investments. Sure, some occassional Stocks and shares will rise quickly making their owners money, but rarely will you become rich. Bear in mind that if an investment doubles in one year (which is pretty rare) you needed to be already wealthy to make a lot of money. If you invested a thousand, you will have just ‘made’ a thousand. You aren’t wealthy or rich yet.

Second realisation is this … It isn’t easy. If everyone could become a billionaire by investing, Warren Buffett would not be famous. It takes time, study and effort and most importantly – independent thought. Not everyone has the will or stamina to carry that through. I know that mine wavers from time to time. Who doesn’t suffer setbacks and confidence knocks?

Thirdly, though it may be a ‘hobby’, it isn’t ‘fun’. The world of investment is dominated by investment banks and their bankers. They do all the big deals, float companies, issue bonds, Trade Stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities and make lots of money. They employ some of the world’s brightest young MBA’s to figure out new and improved profit making ventures. They do all this because it is a business, with real money and real profits. Nobody is playing around.

If you want to be successful, you too need to view it as a business. Here is tip number one: if you are interested, go and do some reading about Benjamin Graham. Buy his books and digest. It will take a while, but it is the proper place to start. It was Ben Graham that first coined the idea successful investment is businesslike.

All that said, the little guy can still make money investing. I know, I do. I’m not rich and I don’t make a fortune, but it all helps. Why can’t you do something similar? Big funds find it hard to invest in small companies, maybe that offers you an edge. Often, money managers are so busy working their 15 hour days that they miss wider discoveries in society. Just by going to the mall or supermarket, you might spot lines selling well and get a head start on the analysts. If that approach sounds good, you might like to grab a book by Peter Lynch – he offers guidance on how he finds winners, or as he puts it ‘tenbaggers’.

If you really want to do well in investment on the stock exchange, then you need to approach it as if it were your own business. A part-time business perhaps, but still a business. That also means taking your information sources seriously. There are many portfolio tracking systems online, some free and others require monthly payment – get registered to one! There are magazines that follow and report on stock markets and shares each week – subscribe to one!

If initially, you just start reading and trying to understand what the heck those guys are on about … you will make progress. It is better than investing blindly.

A stock exchange, for beginners can be a daunting way to make a second income. Fear not, with time, you can learn the skills. But, I warn you again that it takes effort, independent thought and study to really do well.

Is Washington Mutual stock at a good time to buy?

Last time I checked WAMU was at $3.50/share. That’s the lowest they’ve ever been and my guess is in the next couple of years they’ll either go bankrupt or pick things back up again. I was thinking of buying $1000 worth of shares (Approx. 285 shares) and letting it sit long-term to see what happens. Is this a smart risk?

I cringe everytime someone wants to buy something because its “the lowest its ever been”. Heck, GM is the lowest its ever been too, but it hasn’t gone up in 40 years. Anyhow, about WaMu, this is very risky. These guys could go under, though honestly I think the gov’t will bail them out – they really are to big to fail and their failure would cause so many other people and bank to have so many problems that I think the gov’t will lend them whatever it takes to keep them going (but this is just a guess). Still in the short run they are destined to have many billions in additional writeoffs from sub-prime and things look just terrible. True that maybe its when things look their worst thats its time to buy, but this is still a very risky investment.

Hot Penny Stocks Trading Reviews Ten Stocks For Coming Week USOG, XMDC, IWEB, HEME, EIGH

Oil Sector Ready to Breakout OTC USOG

Oct 2nd, 2010 Boca Raton,FL TheStockwizards.net a free Hot Penny Stocks alert blog newsletter that gives you up to the minute real-time detailed financial information such as usog with quotes and chart updates on the OTC-OTCBB, NYSE, and NASDAQ.

TSW is looking for hot penny stocks exposed on the move showing unusual movement like usog which could be a popular top performing HOT OTC Small Cap Penny Stock.

We know Traders and investors are looking for exciting OTC volume movers such as usog to put on there speculative watch list for review.

The TSW Penny Stock Finder Trading System locates the best small cap, Micro Cap penny stocks that have unusual movements with news, popular penny stocks with big gains, and strong Stock Trends. TSW looks for exciting, explosive penny stocks like usog with the right mixture of powerful volume and low Market Capitalization to give day-traders & investors an opportunity to build a Penny Stock Watch list consisting of the most notable penny stocks that have high volume with positive change that can become explosive mega volume penny picks at any given time.

Hot Penny Stock Picks included in this report are: TIVU, USOG, MDMN, IWEB, XMDC, HEME, HLNT, QASP, PWEB, EIGH

(1) (OTC) Tivus, Inc. TIVU

This could be one of the biggest home runs of the fourth quarter. With an outstanding share count of only 19 million and lots of momentum and sponsorship, this looks really intriguing to TSW. If you use our magic formula of a 40 million market cap on TIVU, we are looking at a $1-$2 stock. Obtaining a 40 million market cap on a penny stock is very achievable and not outrageous. This is how TSW has developed a reputation for finding stocks like TIVU, our latest trade alerts.

HLNT & EIGH were home runs for our members. Any pull back should be looked at as a buying opportunity. If the stock dips at the open, TSW feels that it should be bought. Look for the .08 cent area.

If TIVU keeps putting out the right kind of news and the float gets locked up, who knows where this will go. This is definitely one to put on everybody’s watch list for higher prices in the future. TIVU deals with quality companies such as The Double Tree Hotel, as stated in their most recentpress release. A weekly close above .18 and the stock could move much higher. It’s going to be very interesting to see how it plays out. With a 1.9 million market cap, there is plenty of upside potential. This could get exciting!

(2) United States Oil & Gas Corp. USOG

Is a Big Run on Oil starting again? Oil futures are getting ready to breakout. look for energy and Oil Penny Stocks to make major runs in the next several months. USOG is a great example of what is about to happen in this sector.

(3) (OTC) Medinah Minerals, Inc. MDMN

Commodities related to oil, energy and gold will be in play over the next several months. MDMN is a junior mining stock. Looks like it’s getting ready to breakout over the .04 for a weekly resistance. Will this be the weekly breakout?

(4) (OTCBB) IceWEB, Inc. IWEB

Cloud Computing is a hot topic, and the Best Penny Stock in this sector. TSW is watching for the weekly breakout above the 200 week moving average at .32. Will IWEB breakout this week? A weekly close above that 200 week moving average could really get this going.

(5) (OTC) XTend Medical Corp. XMDC

XMDC had a nice breakout above the 200-day moving average several trading days ago. With a market cap of approx..600 million shares, it will be interesting to see where this goes. .08 to .10 would be a stretch but the stock still has room to run.

(6) (OTC) Healthmed Services Ltd. HEME

TSW started coverage at .20 cents. How high will HEME go? Yahoo finance has it listed as 182 million shares outstanding. We are watching to see if the rat pack will come in and start shorting this coming week.

(7) (OTC) Highline Technical Innovations. Inc. HLNT

Can HLNT stay above .01 another week? Major home run for TSW Subscribers so far.

(8) (OTCBB) Quasar Aerospace Industries, Inc. QASP

TSW is watching for the breakout above the 50-day moving average.

(9) (OTC) Pacific Webworks, Inc. PWEB

Major resistance levels are .20 and .25 cents with 46 million shares outstanding. PWEB has plenty of upside available. Market Cap is less than 8 million.

(10) (OTC) 8000 Inc. EIGH

This could be an interesting week for EIGH. The rat pack is in total control of the stock as head market maker CHDN has been relentless on the ask all week. Will the Bulls throw in the towel and give into the rat pack? Or do the Bulls get their act together and take the rat pack for a ride? A major battle appears to be going on here.

TSW was previously compensated ten thousands dollars (10,000) for a 1 week trade alert on USOG.

Have you ever had a dog with a kink in its tail?

Hi there…
I was at Petco picking up supplies this weekend with my two 5 month old Westie pups. The lady who works there noticed that one of my girls had a “kink” in her tail.

When I felt it, it is like a “Z” shape… She said it is from pulling on it and looked at me and my boyfriend like we did it!

She has a crazy puppy sister and another 3 month old puppy that lives downstairs that play with her for hours on end. They basically beat the crap out of each other (puppy play) until they are exhausted so it probably happened then.

her tail looks like the Stock Market bar chart – I would love her if she didnt even have a tail! It doesnt seem to bother her or hurt.. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Will it be a medical problem in the future?

Any experience with this??

Thanks for your help!

Gauge (a young rednosed pitbull) has a ‘kink’ near the base of his tail. I think the story was that his mom stepped on it when he was tiny. It doesn’t bother him, and the vet says that it’s perfectly fine, it just didn’t heal straight.

I was going to pick this phone up, but all the blogs and websites list it coming out on Thursday. If this phone is coming out in technically a few hours, why is there no credible information other than Korean release date of 9/8? The Verizon website still has a signup to be notified of the upcoming release date, and some stores still have no stock of this phone? (Brother works for Verizon)

Does anyone know when this phone will actually be arriving or any credible info?

What is naked short selling and is it really bad as thay say?

As we have learned, selling a stock short is taking a negative position on a stock, it’s essentially a bet that the Stock Price will go down. You have to first borrow shares from a brokerage house, sell those, and then buy shares of the stock back at a later date to repay the borrowed ones, hopefully when the price has gone down.

Naked short selling is a practice of sale that is conducted before the seller has proper ownership or has been authorized to sell the security by the current owner. Naked short selling is conducted with the anticipation of being able to buy back the security at a lower price in short order, thus covering the original sale and managing to make a profit from the venture.

While the strategy of selling a stock short is considered ethical and legal in many parts of the world, naked short selling is considered to be highly unethical in most markets.

The SEC declared general naked shorting illegal in 1934. but they included a provision allowing market makers to employ the use of naked short selling when the anticipated result was to increase the liquidity of the investment market and help to restore some balance to an unstable situation.

Naked shorting to drive down share prices violates US law. Many companies have been accused of using naked shorts in order to make profits at the expense of share prices. To do this, the trader simply enters a naked short with no intention of ever delivering the shares. A large enough short sale could cause the price to fall, as is the case with any stock being sold, so as long as the trade is large enough to move the share price, the short is likely to be profitable. Normally this would be risky; if the price did move back up for other reasons, the trader would be driving the price up with every purchase, a condition known as a “short squeeze”. But as long as the buyer turns around and shorts it back into the market, the price continues dropping, making the trades profitable even though no one actually holds any of the shares.

IS IT REALLY AS BAD AS THAY SAY?

You will hear from some people that naked short selling is not bad for a Stock Market. But it is. If you allow someone to sell stocks he doesn’t own, if he does it in 1000 shares it’s not a problem. But what happens if he short a 100,000,000 shares of a company? The result is that naked short selling creates an increased supply of shares of a company and price of the stock eventually falls. So the fear is that, even if there is no reason for stock to fall, and the company is in great business like Coca-Cola Inc. someone could drive prices down and profit from it or by buying put options.

To help you understand this, I’ll give you an example: let’s say you bought a house for you your family for $100,000. You agreed to put a deposit of 30% ie $30,000. You pay your mortgage, and everything seams fine, until one day you realize that someone naked sold short your mortgages and several other in that area, increasing supply of houses like yours, and driving the prices down fast! As a result, the price of your house fall below $30.000 and you get a call from your bank (ie. a margin call) requesting to pay the difference or they will sell the house at the market. Next day, your house is sold a you had to move out. A week later, price of the house goes back up to $100.000.

That’s how feels every investor or Bear Stearns, or any other company which was under heavy naked short selling in the period of crash in 2008. Yes, prices fell anyway, but the question is did someone manipulated and fueled that fall?

CONCLUSION:

Don’t get me wrong, short selling has an important role in price discovery process, because short sellers are reality check and they try to exploit inefficiencies and short sell companies that shouldn’t have high valuations. That is OK. But allowing someone to sell something he doesn’t own, in a way that each of his sale further depress and manipulate the price should be and is illegal.

Recently, my dad has been teaching me about the stock market. I have done Paper Trading, and I have done pretty successfully. I have a Scottrade account set up, and I have some of my stocks ready. All I need to do is to put the money in the account. I just need a percentage of some stocks to hold, and some stocks to short. Please give me an answer soon.

Before you “trade” or even invest there are four major items that you need to consider and have in place
1 – A written sound trading/investment plan with rules that will not only help you but more importantly protect you, mostly from yourself.
2 – Sufficient trading/investment capital. Use your own money, there’s no need to go into debt so that you trade/invest.
3 – A written money management program in place.
4 – A full and complete understanding of the rules & regulations of the industry.

Stock Picks for Day Traders and Swing Traders

There are a number of stock selection in the market these days, each promised to provide more accurate and effective Trading tips, so you trade off the curve and some big gains, regardless of your trading experience. With them, all promising the same things it can difficult to separate fact from fiction and identify the Best Stock Pick program, so I think a number of the most popular run through the ringer, which in my opinion the best program on the Stock Pick market today.

==>Click Here to Get Best Penny Stock Pick Robot <==

The program that I refer to the best stock pick program on the market today is nothing more than a Day Trading robot. This is a program that has built and maintains large databases in the past trend data and applies it to electricity, to real-time market data for similarities, they look to investigate further. He does this because the Stock Market travel in cycles that repeat themselves every few years, so by making the past into account, you can remarkably accurate depictions of how certain Stocks will see action in the near future.

Once a day trading robot has found what it considers as a profitable trade, it will inform you so that you act in accordance with what should be done to adopt the recommended trade.

==>Click Here to Get Best Penny Stock Pick Robot <==

One very important thing to mention about the Day Trading Robot that it focuses exclusively on Penny Stocks. This is a great strength of this program as penny stocks have a habit of going wild swings, because they are influenced so much easier than other stocks because of their lower prices. For example, was the first pick, which I rate to 15 cents from the program when I get them. I bought a 1000 shares, which seems like quite a bit, but that worked out just 15 cents, to $ 150.

I checked again at the end of the day and sure enough, this stock had made a big leap, a doubling of the value to just over 31 cents. I started to check an inventory on this like crazy on and off, as it continues upward. It is definitely down at 48 cents per share, before rolling back up the mountain. When all said and done, I had made $ 460 ($ 310 not including) my initial investment. Basically, I have more than tripled my initial investment in the course of 2 days. Penny stocks perform like this all the time, the trick is to identify them, the day trading robot done for me over and over again, since I talked to him months ago that greet me there, so good camp program today to pick out.

Even if the boat is fresh when it comes to stock Investing, or you do not have time for you when you’re ready, your financial independence, I very much recommend day trading robot to realize the Best Stocks to pick program a chance.

If you want to invest your hard earned funds as well as create returns in Stock Market. Here’s few best Stock Market Investment tips which you have to consider before Investing.

To begin with The Stock Market is simply the instrument for getting your monetary targets. You will invest your dollars to increase for a few upcoming expenses like your kid’s college, your dream home, or just to your retirement.

Best Stock Market Investment Tips

Although ahead of investing in market you should need the basic knowledge of how market investment runs & stick to the very best stock market investment tips to become an effective investor. Investing in a market suggests basically purchasing the ownership interest in a firm. If the company performs well, value of shares hold by you also increases & your profits would rise. In case this company performs poorly the worth of shares is more likely to go down.

Whenever you purchase the share, you are simply buying a little piece of firm. You become a joint-owner of the firm with all other shareholders. This enables you to attend shareholder meetings & be involved in the certain decisions & you may vote on the company matters & be heard.

Lots of people generally do not want to be investor just to attend shareholder meetings and be involved in certain decisions. People make investments since they need their cash to grow on their behalf and multiply. The market offers several methods to invest your cash and make benefits.

When it comes to investment, you may invest your cash in market via the mutual fund, by yourself, or through the help of the stockbroker. But Mutual Funds rarely beat the stock market due to rules added to them. The only one you may count on is you, thus study the best stock market investment tips to be a profitable investor.

The market gives many benchmarks however the 3 hottest indexes are the Dow, the NASDAQ, as well as the S&P 500. The prices of those indexes were dependent upon the Stocks they track. As an example, the S&P 500 tracks 500 stocks. If these 500 stocks increase on the average, the S&P 500 index climbs. Set your market investment goal to hit the market. Your investment profit needs to be greater than the benefit of major indexes.

Every investment has risk, the more risk you are taking, and the more returns you make. Just as one investor you purpose need to be to at first determines the risk you could be ready to take and invest your money accordingly. To illustrate, a Penny Stock is more risky than a huge company such as Microsoft or Wal-Mart. On the other hand, a penny stock can easily increase 100%, 200%, 300% or more. Although big firm stocks such as Microsoft or else Wal-mart can be much riskier if you choose you invest your money in it.

Ordering bridesmaid dresses?

My cousin asked me to be in her wedding the other day. The wedding is on Sept 26, 2008, so, like a month! I’m going to David’s Bridal to pick out my dress on Tuesday, which is the quickest day possible. Has anyone ordered a dress from there? How long did it take to come in? Do they have alot of dresses already in stock?

David’s Bridal keeps a lot in stock, they want to make things easy. Check out the link below before you go in on Tuesday. It will show you the dresses they sell, the sizes it’s available in, the price, and if it’s available in the store.

Don’t stress, have fun.
If the bride’s not worried, you don’t need to be, either! : )

Penny Stock Trading is highly lucrative. It is one way of earning profits, which could be several times over than what was perhaps invested initially during the trading duration. Sometimes its possible to earn as much as 200% to 1300% in profit from Penny Stocks that too in matter of weeks. According to the US Securities and Exchange Commission or SEC, penny stocks, also called nano stocks or micro stocks, are those that are priced at $5 or less. So for the same amount that you spend to buy few shares of a large cap stock belonging to a blue chip company listed on the national stock exchanges such as NYSE or NASDAQ, you can actually buy low priced penny stocks in large volumes. Hence a slight percentage increase in price during trading can raise the possibility of doubling your earning in just few days time.

Pitfalls to Avoid when Dealing in Penny Stocks Based on Unreliable Information Source

However I must warn you that not all pink sheet or Otc Stocks that are traded achieve the same results. It could so happen that the stocks of some of the micro companies hardly see any trade volumes at all. This indicates fall in requisite threshold demand needed to provide the necessary boost to raise the value of those Small Cap Stocks priced minimally low. No wonder, trading in micro stocks although promising in terms of profit made, may carry plenty of risk. This is due to the extremely turbulent and highly unpredictable nature of penny stock trading. Even though we all despise any sort of turbulence and may want to avoid it at all costs, but its inevitable, lest there is stagnation in demand and supply. It is a necessary evil that provides the requisite trade momentum to a particular penny stock such as those listed on the OTCBB (Over The Counter Bulletin Board). It is important that you keep away from those stocks that do not see any demand in terms of trade volume at all, which renders them to remain dull, sluggish and stagnant, not fit for short term investment.

In case you have invested in a stock that hardly saw any trading since you brought them in large numbers, it is quite possible that you may have perhaps fallen victim to a pump and dump scheme, where the potential of a particular penny stock was hyped to jack up its demand and hence its prices artificially. Thereafter the shares are quickly dumped by the miscreants as soon as the prices reaches a predestined value. That is how the shrewd Traders make huge profit at the cost of thousands of innocent losers like you, each day.

This happens only when you act on impulse and buy stocks without having investigated deeply into the merits of such an investment. Perhaps on impulse, you decided to buy stocks of a particular Penny Stock Company in large volume, because of a spam alert that you received on your email inbox or as sms on your cellphone from an unknown source that you never subscribed to. Much to your dismay after you had wrongly invested, you are aghast to see the price of that stock suddenly plummet in matter of minutes, to such depths that there is no more hope for it to ever crawl back to recovery. Thereafter it no longer attracts any buyer at all whatsoever and ultimately you are left clutching on some useless papers. These are some of the greatest pitfalls of trading in penny stocks, without carrying out your own research, even if they are priced temptingly at few cents each, especially those that appear on pink sheets.

Reliable Information to Pick on Free Penny Stocks

So it is my request that you subscribe to authentic information, in the form of newsletters from few reliable source that truly enjoys a good repute amongst a large investor base. Even if some so called experts advise you to buy a particular stock, simply do not jump the gun immediately. Remain calm and do your own research to see if what has been recommended is truly genuine or not.

As caveat remember that there are far too many scam artists lurking somewhere, who are waiting to pick on novices who simply do not have any idea about trading in stocks at all. So beware of falling prey to any of the many pump and dump schemes that keep cropping up time and again. Although most reliable information come at a price, however there are certain newsletters that actually offer you with free subscription, for a limited period on a trial basis, to judge for yourself, before taking up their paid full time membership for subscription.

To learn more on free software and newsletters that give you details of free penny stocks pick you are advised to Click Here Now.

Investing in Commodities During a Market Upswing

The sideways asset action from the last week of February kept the pressure on sellers that may have overstayed their welcome — once again trying to pick that elusive market top. They may not find it. That’s because the market’s setting up for a “Square Root Recovery” — here’s everything you need to know to understand what’s going on…

What the “Square Root Recovery” Means for Commodities

The dip in prices in late February was once again met with buying that now have positioned oil, gold and Stocks for a run to recent highs. This setup is impressive now that the S&P has reclaimed the 1100 level and now attacking resistance at 1110/1120 which was the triple top from November/December. This has all been accomplished without the aid of Dollar weakness that can accelerate the bull trend on a turn down below 79.5.

Stocks were nearly unchanged for the last week of February with prices in the major indexes off less than 1 percent. The above-mentioned S&P was down 5 points, which is a 0.4% loss in the broad based market barometer. The Dow was down 77 points, -0.7%, and the NASDAQ lost 6 points, -0.3%, for the week ending February 26th.

The “square root” recovery was not my original description but aptly summarizes market action over since the latter half of 2008. As the name implies the recovery is that of a square root sign, which is a sharp initial recovery followed by leveling off later down the road. The V shaped recovery has stalled with prices moving sideways in most assets since the highs of December 2009 and January 2010.

Stocks had led the way for the past year and look ready for another attack on the S&P 1150 then the original breakout of 1300 from August 2008. Since my research service, Resource Trader Alert, focuses on Trading commodity futures, not stocks — not stocks — the question remains: how does that affect our futures plays?

How to Find the Positive

The upside potential is magnified in natural resource assets, which were crushed in the previous economic decline. Prices in commodities have another 15% to regain half of the overall drop from 2008. Stocks have long ago rallied above that level and signal a continued recovery with resiliency short lived selling pressures.

A Commodity stock rally from the February 5, 2010 lows is leading the way: US Steel $42 to $54 (28%), Cleveland Cliffs $39 to $58 (49%), and the worlds largest Gold producer Barrick Gold $33 to $38 (15%). (Percentage gains as of early March.)

One natural resource that is not exchange traded, Iron Ore, has made new yearly highs. This from Bloomberg:

“The cash price of iron ore delivered to China, the world’s biggest buyer, rose to the highest in more than a year on demand from the nations steelmakers.

“The cost of 62 percent iron-content ore delivered to the port of Tianjin increased 1.4 percent to $133.10 a metric ton today, the highest in at least 14 months, according to The Steel Index. The so-called spot price has gained 9.8 percent in the past four weeks and has more than doubled from its 2009 low on March 27.”

As mentioned in late February, sometimes clues come from not what happens, but rather what does not. The comeback from the depths earlier in the winter was a good sign for continued trend strength.

In fact the Dow gained 2.6% during the month of February, as the S&P 500 added 2.9% when our fighter looked knocked down. Gold also added $40 an ounce and crude over $6 a barrel for the month. This powerful resurgence was surprisingly against the headwind of a rising US dollar.

That all boils down to one thing — if our square root recovery holds true, we can expect stocks to track sideways for a while. And while that’s not great news for all of the folks who are betting hard against the market right now, it’s great news for Traders like us… After all, a sideways track for the market gives us plenty of short-term opportunities to trade for maximum profit. You can bet that’s exactly what we’ll be doing in the second quarter of 2010.

Making Sense of This Irrational Market

In the meanwhile, we can’t help but be amazed — and even a bit amused — at what’s happening in the market right now. Some people are calling this the worst recession to hit the U.S. since the Great Depression. And now other people are debating whether the recession is over and whether we’re now beginning a recovery.

Take the Stock Market, for example. Gains there continued for the sixth consecutive week as the Dow lingers around the 11,000-level (as of mid-April) and a full recovery from the July 2008 lows that began the decline…

I had to pause as I typed that last word

Even as a 20-year market veteran, the old timers liked to point out that most traders have never really seen a sustained bear market — only corrections. The 1987 Black Monday when the DOW lost 22% in one day occurred my freshmen year in college. Healing over time it regained all of the losses in 2 years by 1989 while I was still learning business theory and hitting the books. So the word “decline” may underplay the force and magnitude of the financial uncertainty that occurred.

Profits Anytime

Price is relative and money can be made in all market conditions, which is important to keep in mind while looking back at the past 2 years.

Further more, it hasn’t been long since the NASDAQ hit 5000, Crude oil was at $10 a barrel just a few short years ago and Gold was below $100 an ounce in the 1970s. Interest rates recently hit zero for short-term money — marking an inexplicable negative real return. Corn has traded below 60 cents in the past with Soybeans hitting $16.00 a bushel in 2008. With a broad perspective it’s plain to see price movement goes both ways.

Ups and Downs with Downs and Ups

Much to my continued amazement, the reflation of beaten down assets continues to surprise and bewilder investors. I find myself in a day-to-day battle among colleagues and TV’s talking heads defending the current uptrend — but as you can see, it’s still intact.

The depressed stock shares and commodity resources stopped digging the hole lower in March 2009 and resumed the value role for investors, who were searching to retain and maintain returns. Look no further than the new yearly highs in crude made in the beginning of April at $87 coinciding with new yearly S&P highs at 1188 (already eclipsed by recent upside action).

The current move to Dow 11,000 measures an even shorter 18-month time period to regain ground than the 1987 sell off. This bullish Stock Price recovery action has left many commodities lagging behind and relatively unappreciated in many uses of the word.

More-Mentum — Courtesy of Earnings Season

We’re now looking at the beginning of the earnings season for the quarter once again. The four times a year short-term corporate scorecard can be a boost or bailout for sidelined skeptics that have watched the S&P 500 rally more than 75% from the 2009 lows. Better than expected results can fuel the hot running furnace of finance.
This from Reuters:

“U.S. Stock Investors will watch the earnings numbers flow in this week to see how much momentum the rally can get from early profit reports. Some 72 percent of companies beat earnings estimates in the fourth quarter, down from a record 79 percent in the previous quarter, but still well above the 61 percent in a typical quarter, Thomson Reuters data showed.”

Keep your eyes pegged to the market — earnings numbers could easily fuel a buying frenzy as companies to marginally better than the Wall Street set expect.
